Overview
Set in 2001 in the conservative South Korean city of Daegu, this coming-of-age drama explores the relationship between two high school boys during a time of shifting cultural boundaries. Gyeonghwan, a quiet transfer student with a secret passion for Japanese music and anime, finds an unlikely friend in Jaemin, the charismatic class president who shares his forbidden interests. As they spend their days listening to J-pop in private, Gyeonghwan develops deep, unrequited feelings for Jaemin. When he finally musters the courage to confess his secret sexuality, he must face the harsh reality of social ostracization and the quiet ache of a connection that can never be fully realized in an era of cultural and personal transition.
