Overview
Inspired by the true events of the 1970 Yodogo hijacking, Good News is a black comedy satire set in a period of intense political tension. When a Japan Airlines flight is hijacked by members of the Red Army Faction, South Korean authorities launch a secret mission to land the plane at Gimpo Airport instead of North Korea. To trick the hijackers, they hire a film director to give the airport a cosmetic 'facelift' to look like Pyongyang. The operation is led by a mysterious fixer known as Nobody, an elite Air Force lieutenant, and the head of the KCIA. The film lampoons government bureaucracy and international relations through a fast-paced, absurd narrative.
