Overview
Varanasi is an epic action-adventure spectacle that spans thousands of years, transitioning between the ancient city in 512 CE and a futuristic 2027 ravaged by the celestial impact of Asteroid Shambi. The story follows a globetrotting explorer named Rudhra who embarks on a high-stakes mission across diverse terrains, from the dense jungles of Kenya to the frozen landscapes of the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica. Rooted in Hindu mythology and drawing narrative inspiration from the Ramayana, the film depicts a heroic struggle against mythic forces as Rudhra uncovers ancient secrets to prevent a global catastrophe. This ambitious project marks a landmark in Indian cinema as the first non-English film shot specifically for the 1.43:1 IMAX format.
