In the midst of the 1997 Asian financial crisis, Gukbo, South Korea's premier soju manufacturer, is on the brink of collapse. In-beom, a young and ruthless associate at a global investment firm, sees an opportunity for a massive profit through a hostile takeover. To achieve his goal, he deceptively approaches Jong-rok, a veteran executive who is fiercely loyal to Gukbo, under the guise of an innocent consultant offering to help save the company.
