Set in the 1940s during the British Raj in India, the film follows a secret British agent codenamed 'Devil'. He is sent to the Madras Presidency to investigate a mysterious murder in a wealthy zamindar's house. As Devil digs deeper into the case, he discovers that the murder is merely a small part of a much larger and deadlier political conspiracy involving the Indian independence movement and internal betrayals. He must navigate a world of spies, double agents, and colonial politics to solve the mystery while grappling with his own identity and the shifting loyalties of those around him.
