Lost in Starlight

Set in the year 2050, this animated sci-fi romance explores the connection between Nan-young, an astronaut preparing for a long-term mission to Mars, and Jay, a musician struggling with the grief of a failed career. Nan-young is driven by a desire to find her mother, an astronaut who disappeared during a previous Mars mission. When she meets Jay, the two find solace in each other's trauma and dreams. However, their relationship is tested when Nan-young is finally selected for the voyage, knowing she will be hundreds of millions of kilometers away for years. The film uses a unique retro-cyberpunk aesthetic to tell a sentimental story of love, ambition, and the vast distances that define modern loneliness.
