The picture

In the 1980s and 90s, the world of Go (Baduk) is dominated by the legendary champion Cho Hun-hyun. When he discovers a young, quiet boy named Lee Chang-ho with a raw but extraordinary talent, Hun-hyun decides to take him under his wing as a pupil. The two form a deep bond, but as Chang-ho's skills grow to match and eventually surpass his mentor's, their relationship transforms into a fierce professional rivalry. The film explores the psychological depth of the game and the emotional complexity of a master facing his own obsolescence at the hands of the protege he created.
