Kannappa

Set in the 2nd century, the film tells the legendary story of Thinnadu, a fierce and fearless atheist hunter from a tribal community in the Vimalapuri region. Thinnadu is a rebel who openly defies the spiritual norms and rituals of his tribe, driven by a childhood trauma that left him disillusioned with faith. However, his life takes a transformative turn after a series of mystical encounters and the influence of his love, Namali. The narrative follows his evolution from a skeptic into the most ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. The spiritual awakening culminates in a harrowing test of faith when he discovers a lingam with bleeding eyes. In an ultimate act of selfless devotion, Thinnadu plucks out his own eyes to offer them to the deity, earning him the name Kannappa. The film blends high-octane action, tribal warfare with the rival Kalamukha clan, and grand mythological fantasy to depict this tale of supreme sacrifice.
